Our Story
Western Saddles World was founded in 1996 by then CEO Smith Scold. Showing western horses all throughout his youth, Smith made his way to the University and was a member of the National Champion Ranch Horse Team. After graduating with an Agricultural Science degree, Smith spent the next several years training horses and as the marketing director for a large horse farm in the United States. During that time, Smith began to trade used saddles, horse tack and its accessories for his own personal use and fun. After filling up the office, spare bedroom and garage with saddles and tack, The Western Saddles World was officially in launched in the year 20o2.
In the beginning, It was well-known for being a great place to shop for high-end used saddles and tack with a great reputation for honesty and great quality at a fair price. After building a large presence it decided to go global by going online. With a passion and excitement for the western industry and helping people find better saddles, gear and horse tack Smith and his family spent most weekends on the road at horse shows or traveling to customers to help them fit horses and find the right saddles.
After several years retailing high end new and used saddles, Western Saddles World Custom Saddles came to fruition. Every saddle is handmade in the our different branches in the US from the finest materials and endorsed by some of the best professionals in the business. Specializing in cowhorse, cutting and reining, our team of experts in the shop is second to none. Quality and consistency is paramount and attention to detail is key. Every saddle is personally finished and inspected by Smith before leaving the shop.
